About This Spot

Stepping into Los Reyes Market and Restaurant in the heart of Collinsville feels like discovering a hidden corner of Mexico, nestled within this quiet Alabama town. The gentle hum of conversation blends with the warm, inviting aroma of freshly prepared spices and grilled meats, setting a comfortable pace that encourages you to linger a little longer. It’s the kind of place where local life and authentic flavors merge seamlessly—a lively yet unpretentious spot that welcomes both regulars and curious newcomers.

The space itself holds a charming duality. On one hand, the adjoining market invites exploration, filled with shelves offering ingredients and treasures that hint at home kitchens far beyond these walls—unique cheeses, colorful produce, and spices you won’t find in typical stores. On the other, the restaurant side is warmly decorated with simple, spirited touches that echo tradition and a sense of belonging.

Here, the food unfolds as a subtle story told through each plate. Whether it’s the smoky sizzle of steak fajitas arriving hot from the grill, or the satisfying heartiness of a well-layered torta, each bite resonates with genuine care and rooted family recipes. Vegetarian options carry just as much soul, and the rich broths and slow-simmered dishes offer moments of comfort that feel both familiar and new all at once.

This is a place where time slows, inviting you to pause and appreciate not only the intricate flavors but the warmth in the simple exchanges—between server and guest, a friend and their favorite table, or a wanderer and their newfound meal. It’s local, authentic, and a quietly joyful experience that feels like stepping into a cherished neighborhood gathering.

Located in the middle of quaint town of Collinsville, this Mexican Market is Mexico. Authentic food; beans, rice, spices, cheese, fruit I’ve never even seen before, Past all of this is a restaurant. Beautifully decorated and a bit on the warm side. The steak fajitas were the best we have ever had, hot and smoking with tender steak cooked perfectly tomatoes, peppers and onions. A definite yes! The Nachos Supreme with Steak, was very good, The Cuban Sandwich was huge, filled with meat and cheese. Also an excellent choice. If you are looking for real Mexican food, like street tacos and tamales this is the place to come. The staff was very friendly and tried to help us with the menu. The patrons were also friendly. The prices were very reasonable. We will be back.

The store itself, clean. Fresh meats, even shrimp and I'm from the gulf. Restaurant has great decor. Really authentic. Food was exactly that. Authentic. Will be visiting again.

Great little place to stop when traveling through the area. First time to visit, will again when in the area. Had the mixed Nachos with chicken, steak and shrimp. Definitely try the green sauce and grab a popsicle on the way out.
